Today was SYATP (See You At the Pole) I hope you got up early and stepped up and went to it. This years theme was #IFTHEN from the verse 2 chronicles 7:14 “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” Basically the idea of if we pray, seek, turn; then God hears, forgives, heals.

This theme fits very well with the lesson at my church tonight, which is look and live from the Bible story in Numbers 21 where the Israelites are complaining that God set them free, so He sent venomous snakes  to bite people, and many of them died. Then The Lord said to Moses “make a bronze snake and put it on a pole,” so Moses did as He said, and anyone who was bitten was supposed to look at the bronze snake and they would live, the pain wouldn’t necessarily go away but they would live. But some of the Israelites didn’t look at the bronze snake and so they died.

People who don’t accept the free gift of Salvation from God are like the people who didn’t look at the bronze snake. God is the one that can save us from death, we will still have pain and suffering but we will live. So why don’t people accept the gift? maybe because they don’t want to be embarrassed, maybe because they know people who call themselves Christians but don’t act like it. Whatever the reason is all they have to do to keep from dying is look to God and live. The Israelites would be saved from actual death if they looked to the bronze snake, but we are being saved from eternal separation from God, and a eternal punishment of Hell if we look and live, yes we will still die the earthly way, but no matter what you will live forever, but if you look to God and live you will live in Heaven forever by God’s side.

So look and live and spend eternity with God.
